Miami’s Legacy Magazine is honoring Dionne Anderson, co-founder and principal of The Design Group, as one of South Florida’s 50 Most Powerful Black Professionals in Business in 2013

Anderson, who founded the major national decor, special events production and logistics company with a who's who in local and national clientele, is included in the April/May 2013 issue of Legacy Magazine. She also was featured in the Business Monday section of the Miami Herald, on Monday April 29th. Anderson began her entrepreneurial pursuits in 2000 when launching her own incentive travel company. The Design Group of Miami Heads to California as Vendor for This Week's Humana Golf Challenge in Partnership with the Clinton Foundation

The Design Group (TDG), South Florida's best-kept secret and one of the nation's largest minority owned firms in the industry, is establishing itself as a major national decor, special events production and logistics company, providing creative services for a series of nationally recognized projects.

TDG began its journey six years ago with Citi Financials Chairman's Forum and The 100 Black Men of America's National Convention along with local philanthropic events. The firm has been a major vendor for the Orange Bowl Event Series and produced events as part of the Bowl Championship Series. On Sunday, TDG wrapped up the Bacardi National Championship Gala at the Miami Seaquarium. The Orange Bowl Selects The Design Group As
Decor and Production Vendor for Several Bowl Week Events

The Design Group today announced that it has been selected by the Orange Bowl to provide creative services such as décor, entertainment and hospitality services for many of its events surrounding the football games the committee hosts in early January.

TDG created a dramatic entrance that featured a 32-foot-long step-and-repeat along with a 120-foot long red carpet that included trussing, up-lighting and foliage. TDG's team coordinated all the event logistics and red carpet media relations and production services.

Art Basel Weekend, Miami, FL

TDG's team of international designers transformed a 30,000 square-foot space of a municipal parking lot in Miami's Design District into an outdoor gallery, and constructed a custom VIP lounge for the iconic supermodel. The red carpet entrance was created by TDG and accented with luminaries, trussing and a branded step & repeat banner and a Grass Wall with carnations. TDG coordinated Red Carpet and event logistics.

Food Network South Beach Wine & Food Festival

Inspired by the Wines from Spain "Vivacious Varietal" campaign, The Design Group used their rich multicolor palette including bold orange, yellow, green, red and purple to represent the rich, lively feeling of Spain, all while keeping it South Beach cool. A Lavish Stage was designed at the 2009 Food Network South Beach Wine & Food Festival to Honor the Great Wines of Spain with a VERY Special Ribbon Cutting Ceremony with the Distinguished King and Queen of Spain. Custom Bars with Plasma TV provided video loping of clients products. TDG coordinated the Tent décor, signage and media logistics for Wines of Spain's opening ceremony.

The Design Group was commissioned to design, transport, and install a four-day, back-to-back program in Phoenix, AZ. The Design Team coordinated all elements of the production including everything from florals, custom designed buffets and sets, hand-sewn linens & entertainment. Physical elements or the materials comprising them were flown or trucked in from Miami, Florida to Phoenix, Arizona on TDG's fleet of trucks, providing a cost saving factor for the client. Logistically, specific elements were either created at TDG's headquarters in Miami or on site in a portable floral design studio and carpentry shop. 76th Annual US Mayor's Conference

Mayors from all across the globe, came to Miami for a conference to Celebrate South Florida's diversity. At the Welcome Reception, at Historic Villa Vizcaya, The Design Group produced "A Celebration of The Americas", by creating thematic décor elements throughout the venue.
